Voices from the Past: Uncovering local and personal stories

Passionate about history and storytelling? Then come to this workshop by the History Council of NSW.

How do we reconstruct historical narratives about our communities? How do we tell stories of people long gone and largely absent from historical records? The increasing popularity and accessibility of family history, memoir and historical fiction reveals how storytelling can empower communities, give voice to their diverse histories, and encourage the documentation of local history.

The History Council of NSW day of storytelling Voices from the past: Uncovering local and personal stories will be held on Friday 21 July from 10am to 3.30pm, $35 at the Hotel Canobolas. Speakers are: Alison Wishart (State Library of NSW), Carrolline Rhodes (author), Marian Lorrison (PhD Candidate, Macquarie University) and Trudi Mayfield (Orange City Library). Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com
